Using the gate, comp, and limiter aggressively can actually sound really good. I'd use it on all my tracks if I owned a stack of Octo satellites.

Ocean Way-Use this on an aux in remic mode with mainly pre-fader sends and it sounds like a real studio. UAD has some unique stuff that's the best out there, and then there's some things you don't absolutely have to buy. I just send him my polished-AF-vocals, and he does the rest but at some point, I want to own the whole chain for sure! It´s just, at the moment I need to focus on using money I basically already spent, and I will definitely look into more tools for my belt that are non UAD - let´s see if I ever need to mix anything other than vocals - I hope to, but that´s what my producer likes to do at the moment. It ain’t uad tho so I guess I got off topic sorry Great on boxed vocals, drums, guitar, and makes them huge, somehow at times even wider than the soundstage your converters are naturally giving you it’s really crazy. Takes something like an old Oberhiem and makes it pure magic. Takes a mono synth and makes it larger than life. Not just another stupid sonic maximizer or stereo enhancer, no this is something special.

The last two on the list were the ones I would add if getting a second Octo card. If two, then I can use one as the main channel EQ's one a softube controller. I was organizing the list to make the higher priced ones be the picks.
But I'm going for two Octo cards and this list: I went for a pick 6+2 (holiday purchase). The heavy CPU usage plugs are often the good sounding ones because they did a detailed component model. You will also want to look over the UAD instance chart for CPU usage. If you do get some basic tools like the 1176 and la2a with it, then you are free to pick say a 1073 EQ or SSL EQ. The card should some with some core plugs that include the 1176 and la2Aīut if not, that's the list I would pick.
